Activision has announced the forthcoming release of Ice Age: Continental Drift – Arctic Games, which will be launched this summer on all major consoles, including the Wii, presumably to tie in with the Olympic Games in London.
Developed by Behaviour Interactive, the game is an extension of the fourth instalment of the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift, which is due in movie theaters this June. In the game, gamers of all ages get to use teamwork or go head-to-head as Manny, Sid, Diego and their furry friends in a motion-controlled competition for all the family.
The game takes up the action with Manny’s island set adrift in the middle of continental upheaval, as Manny and his pals run into a menagerie of pirates with a secret treasure. As they can’t agree how to split the treasure evenly, Manny and co. decide to hold a series of sporting events, including ski jumping, ice smashing, and glacial hopping, with the winner of the most events getting the loot. You can choose to either play on the side of the pirates, or join up with Manny and co.
