We all knew this game was coming, but a formal announcement was required anyway. EA Sports announced today that NHL 14 is on the way for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 10, 2013 in North America, and September 13, 2013 in Europe.

This year’s version of NHL will borrow elements from EA’s other sports franchises such as FIFA and Fight Night. The new NHL Collision Physics engine makes use of FIFA’s Player Impact Engine, while the new Enforcer Engine is powered by Fight Night’s tech. NHL 14 will also introduce new One-Touch Dekes and some additions to Be A Pro mode, such as “off-ice elements.”
