Check out the Memories trailer for Remember Me. Jean Maxime-Moris, Creative Director at DONTNOT Entertainment, talks about the memory gameplay mechanic and how it works.
2084 marks the year we inhabit; a world where memories can be digitized and shared as openly as social networks. Sensen, the technology behind digital memory sharing, is made possible through a Paris based company named, Memorize. Marveled as, “the biggest technical revolution in human history,” describes creative director, Jean-Maxime Moris, Sensen is used by 99% of the population.
However, we haven’t reached nirvana just yet. Like moths to a flame, activists, dubbed – Errorists have risen against the revolutionary movement Sensen has created. Cue our protagonist, the “most gifted” of this group, Nilin – a memory hunter.
This is where the trailer enthralls you. Nilin can extract memories from anyone she so chooses. With these pictures of thought, Nilin can view and manipulate aspects of memories, altering the lives of individuals in the present; this technique is called: memory remix. Additionally, she can use the information gathered within a vision to infiltrate buildings, solve puzzles and overcome obstacles.
As you traverse through the game, Nilin’s erased memories are progressively restored. As a result, she eventually begins to remember her combative skills. Once recovered, you can customize combinations that can potentially become increasingly complex. There are also singular abilities that can be utilized for multiple engagements.
In the end, Remember Me’s memory trailer is nothing short of intrigue. Yes, what you see is but a tip of the iceberg, however, there is much to salivate over.
