There’s a reason they call it a “teaser.” The trailer released this morning by EA Sports to get the hype rolling for its upcoming NHL 15 game doesn’t reveal anything significant, although it does hint at how much effort the company has put into its next-gen graphics. And there is at least one cool new feature.
We won’t know how it plays until September, but it sure looks good.
The release coincides with the start of the fan voting to determine this year’s cover athlete. The eight nominees: Patrice Bergeron, Logan Couture, Drew Doughty, Matt Duchene, Erik Karlsson, Phil Kessel, T.J Oshie and P.K. Subban. The honoree will be revealed on June 24 during the NHL Awards presentation.
The company also pulled back the curtain on some of this season’s main innovations including real-world physics affecting the puck and all 12 players, improved player likenesses, and an elevated level of player intelligence, along with an enhanced commentary that blurs the lines between video game and sports broadcast.
NHL 15 is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 this fall.
