The reveal trailer for Tekken 7 has finally been released. Fighting fans hankering for a new Tekken title are in luck, and as you can see from the trailer below, Tekken 7 is inbound, running on Unreal Engine 4. The reveal came early, due to a leak ahead of the planned reveal at EVO 2014.
News of the game was published on IGN ahead of time by accident, with the story being promptly taken down. However, the game has now been officially announced. It’ll celebrate 20 years of the well-loved series.
Katsuhiro Harada, the game’s producer, has praised the Unreal tech, saying “With Unreal Engine 4, we can rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it.
“Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it also allows us to bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire.”
The story for the latest outing sees the never-ending rivalry between Kazuya and Heihachi erupt once more, and there’s something to do with Heihachi killing Kazuya’s mother, and talk of Mr Mishima realising he has special powers. Presumably six previous games where he was able to beat people to a pulp with ease didn’t tip him off sooner. Oh, and it’s also ‘the final battle’. Well, until Tekken 8 anyway.
Yes, it’s pretty clichéd stuff, but what fighter isn’t? The important thing is, Tekken is back, with a sexy Unreal Engine makeover for current gen. Have a look at the trailer below.
