The gates of hell. An asteroid belt. A few homages to old-school games. The super-talented track-making community busying themselves with RedLynx’s latest moto-physics hit have made all of this and more. This new Trials Evo trailer shows off some of the cleverest user-generated levels made with the Xbox 360 exclusive and, if you’re like me and haven’t fired up the game in a while, serves as a pretty good motivation to jump back in for more painful, pleasurable racing fun.

Man, You Guys Made Some Cool-Looking Trials Evolution Levels
SMASH! Criterion Making Need For Speed Most Wanted
“Do you have what it takes to become Most Wanted?” asks EA’s press release for Need For Speed: Most Wanted, as they begin their recruitment drive for murderers. Oh! No, wait. This is nonsense marketing speak for “Would you like to play our game?” The very splendid news that Criterion – developers of one of the best games ever, Burnout: Paradise – are remaking the 2005 racer greets us this E3morn, which they promise will embrace the developer’s best skills. And that means… SMASHING THROUGH BARRIERS! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
This Skyrim-Inspired Trials Evolution Track Lets You Vroom Through Tamriel
The latest physics-intensive racer from RedLynx features a killer track editing system that lets users build ridiculously intricate environments. As seen on YouTube, one Trials Evo creator paid homage to Bethesda’s hit action RPG with a medieval race course. The only thing it’s missing are Jarls and Hold Guards. I personally will be logging on later to get my Dovah-Moto on.
Nascar The Game: Inside Line
Activision has announced another licensed NASCAR game due out this fall, titled (appropriately enough) NASCAR The Game: Inside Line. It’s being developed by Eutechnyx, the studio behind the last game, and is due out this fall for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
Carmageddon’s Crowdsourced ReReincarnation
Hmm. I was under the impression that Stainless’ forthcoming Carmageddon reboot was in a safe place already in terms of funding, but nonetheless they’ve added their game of pedestrian slaughter and hyper-aggressive future-racing to the infinite ranks of Kickstarted development. The internet’s been enormously happy about the news today, which puzzles me slightly as it’s not like the game wasn’t going to happen without crowdsourcing.

Physics-fueled motocross returns to Xbox Live Arcade with new tracks, new sharing tools, and new multiplayer modes in Trials Evolution. Players must once again navigate ramps, gaps, and a variety of obstacles across a diverse range of environments.

DiRT Showdown
Dirt Showdown’s multiplayer will be adding a new spin to the racing series. The gameplay will focus heavily on stunts, arcade style tasks and challenges, like daring your friends to beat your best time.
Ridge Racer Unbounded
Ridge Racer Unbounded is a dramatic departure for the series, but one that’s filled with some gloriously destructive, fast-paced racing. Unbounded is, as its name suggests, Ridge Racer without limits. Your cars are no longer simple drifting machines, but tools of destruction, and the fictitious, urban tracks of Shatter Bay are your calamitous playground.
Please Wear A Seatbelt: Death Road Out Tomorrow
I’m not entirely convinced I’d like to deliberately steer my vehicle anywhere called Death Road. Perhaps I’m being old-fashioned and twee, but there’s just something about the name I find offputting. I can’t put my finger on it, it’s just a feeling. That is the rather direct name given to what I’m going to generously call a “WipEout-inspired racer”, coming to PC tomorrow. You can see a trailer of it below, and then say, “No, that’s not WipEout, that’s…”
