Deep Silver put out a trailer announcing Saints Row IV (that’s FOUR to you people who can’t read Roman) yesterday! It launches on 20th August 2013 in the US and 23rd August 2013 in the boring parts of the world. Me and Ye Olde Man Gillen had a look at it with a cynical eye, KG’s cat gently humping him on the leg throughout.

Nihilistic New Metro: Last Light
Gritty-looking Russian-accented choochoo-themed tunnel shooter Metro: Last Light was bought from THQ by Deep Silver, and will come out in North America on May 14th and everywhere else May 17th Read the rest of this entry »
West To Kill: Call Of Juarez – Gunslinger
One of my first experiences inside Castle Shotgun ended with a heartfelt lament. The Call of Juarez sounded bitterly in my ears. I haven’t played Gunslinger yet and while it doesn’t quite look like a return to form, it does seem potentially entertaining, with its arcade, score-based take on rooting, tooting and indeed shooting.
Dragon’s Prophet Has The Bounciest Dragons
I was going to mock the new Dragon’s Prophet trailer for featuring people sitting on what appeared to be Bucking Dragoncos. But then I realised how much more brilliant mechanical dragons would be than stupid boring mechanical bulls, and herald Runewater Entertainment as GENIUSES.
Modders Give Gearbox’s Aliens Some Colonic Irrigation
Aliens: Colonial Marines got 99 problems, and looking like it’s from 2005 is one of them. Which is mystifying, given that recent in-game footage clearly showed that a more attractive version of the game did/does exist somewhere.
I Ain’t Afraid Of No God: BioShock Infinite’s Liz Unbound
As we all know full well and is entirely obvious, BioShock: Elizabeth is a straightforward damsel in distress with a pretty face and a nice dress, and there’s nothing more to her than that. There definitely isn’t anything surprising or sinister about her: she will be rescued by the big man with the big gun, the mean nasty boss will fall to his doom and everyone will live happily ever after.
Crysis 3 Can Be Swampy Green And Murky
News collectors VG247 have a bunch of Crysis 3 footage, which I have cheerfully reblogged below. Producer-man Michael Read has a bit to say about it, too, explaining what makes that section – Swamp – unique. Well, it’s swampy green and might murky, for a start. But also you get to kill men!
It’s Your Daily Dead Space 3 Trailer
Dead Space 3 is assaulting us with news we don’t want to hear of late. Out in just over a week, we’ve recently learned that it’s going to offer microtransactions for in-game items, and that the PC build is to be a dead-straight port with no frills. Oh, and dear sweet Horace, it’s used a Phil Collins song. And now it’s saying it’s got a story.
Just The Tip – Starwhal Deathmatch
Okay so it’s not a console game, it’s not even a PC game, it’s a webgame, but that doesn’t mean it’s not highly entertaining. If you liked Sumotori, QWOP and all of the incredibly-difficult-to-control crop, then Just The Tip is for you.
Watch Hotline Miami Destroy Your Childhood
Hotline Miami is one of the most vicious, violent games in recent memory. This video by PulpitPower explores what would happen if we put Hotline Miami’s savage protagonist in some old-school games (and a couple of newer ones, too!) The results are about as horrifying as you’d expect.
