GTA V Trailer #2
It’s been a while since we heard anything about everyone’s favourite carjacking, basejumping, prostitute murdering simulator, which I guess means it’s time for another trailer from Rockstar. In typical GTA fashion, this one is chock full of characters, dialogue, cut-scene and manages to show almost no actual gameplay.
Aliens Vs Marine Is AVP In CryEngine 3
Colonial Marines isn’t due until February and that’s a long wait for the next attempt to capture the horror of man versus the ultimate murderer. The best parts of Rebellion’s first (and the best) AvP game are the marine levels, at least in single player. Horror games often take away weapons or severely limit ammunition in order to increase tension, but even if you’re armed to the teeth, aliens are deadly and terrifying.
StarForge Falls Out Of Sky, Lands On IndieGoGo
We’ve mentioned the astonishingly ambitious sci-fi combat and building game StarForge before, but now it requires a special nod, because the team behind it are trying to raise some money. Based on the extraordinary range of things they’ve already achieved – take a look at the video below for an illustration of that – I would say these are gents who deserve an even break.
Trick Or Retreat: Outlast Mixes Scares, Mirror’s Edge
Alright now, everyone, gather ’round. I’m going to tell you a ghost story. One especially spooooooooky sunlit morning, we brought you word of Outlast, a PC-only survival-horror scare-a-thon from a group of folks who worked on Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed, and Uncharted. The attached 50-second snippet of footage seemed to hold promise, but tickled fancies more than it did scarybones.
Bioshock Infinite And The Beast of America
Bioshock Infinite has seen a few high-profile members of the team leave of late, but that doesn’t seem to have caused it to waver from its February 26th release date. The latest trailer shows off happenings of light and fury, with lots of combat. The skyline, Elizabeth, and the Handyman baddy feature heavily. If the original Bioshock was a colourful and visually offbeat shooter, then we’ll need to dust off rarely used 19th-century adjectives for this one. Go take a look.
Mighty Morphine: Painkiller – Hell And Damnation
‘Hell and Damnation’ is the kind of exclamation that I imagine might escape the rarely unpursed lips of a country vicar as he stubs his toe on the rector’s boot-scraper when arriving for afternoon tea. Tacked on the end of Painkiller’s colon, it’s probably not intended to sound as quaint as all that but rather to convey the gurgling, catarrh-trembling roar of a heavy metalist. John has already played the opening levels of this remake of the original kill ‘em up, which comes out on Halloween.
Snikt And Smash: Marvel Heroes
When X-Men: The Last Stand crammed in all the mutants it made for a crowded frame and some of Marvel’s most uncanny were rendered as little more than computer-generated blobs of colour. Free-to-play multiplayer online ARPG Marvel Heroes also appears to subscribe to the ‘more actually can be more’ philosophy, but hopefully to greater effect.
Halo 4 Scanned Launch Trailer
The official Halo 4 launch trailer, “Scanned,” has hit the Web. And it is impressive. Master Chief’s mind is violated by a powerful new enemy, who in searching for Chief’s weaknesses, finds the source of his strength.
Jim Wants To Show You Some Lost Planet 3
No, not our Jim, although the similarities are uncanny. Though we suspect the Jim in Lost Planet 3 is based on our own Jim’s days when he used to run around with a camera on his shoulder, shooting at giant insects in icy wastelands. You can see a new nine-minute narrated walkthrough video below.
