Braid Plus Magnetic Personality: Teslagrad

Posted on Jan 24, 2013 10:00:08 AM

Hark, I appear to have happened upon an independently developed and published videogame with elements of platforming! Will wonders never cease? But this one’s magnetized together just enough brains and personality to generate a healthy amount of intrigue.

GTA IV’s Iron Man Mod: Now With Actual Super Powers

Posted on Jan 22, 2013 10:00:36 AM

Oh how far we’ve come. Back in 2011 – which I still struggle to believe was more than one year ago, or one day, or not tomorrow – we posted about a marvelous-looking GTA IV mod that turned Niko into Iron Man. Or rather, Iron Man if he were only slightly better at flying than one of the firetrucks he’s apparently wearing and barely capable of going toe-to-toe with the starvingest of hobos.

Trials Evolution Comes To PC In March

Posted on Jan 21, 2013 10:00:23 AM

It’s obvious that RedLynx stopped loving us. We were there for them, day and night, attending to playing their games. But then oh look who should stride in with their long legs and big, muscley arms but Microsoft, flashing their wallets and giant cars. And Trials really became an Xbox thing, leaving us staring at the space where RedLynx used to be, sobbing.

Tilt The World With Not Pac-Man

Posted on Jan 15, 2013 05:33:20 PM

There are many things that Not Pac-Man isn’t. It’s not, for example, the Cuban missile crisis. It’s also not a car. It’s definitely not the Higgs-Boson particle. And I can’t begin to tell you how much it’s not a delicious, multi-tiered birthday cake with “Craig Is Best And Handsomest And Smells Lovely” written on it. So what I want to know is why it claims to not to be the one thing it most closely resembles? Pretentious Pac-Man.

Fus RohnoyoudiDahn’t: Super Skyrim Bros.

Posted on Jan 14, 2013 04:26:46 PM

They did. They absolutely, utterly, completely modded a new world into Skyrim that’s based on Super Mario. Super Skyrim Bros. adds a new instance into Skyrim, so you at least won’t be converting all of Bethesda’s chilly wastes to the blocky nightmare you see here. Just a corner of it.

Hotline Miami – Review

Posted on Jan 11, 2013 03:49:00 PM

There’s definitely something to be said for indie games. After deciding I wanted to play Street Fighter 4 on Steam and spending a solid half an hour being dicked around by Microsoft Games For Windows Live login failures, password resets and security questions, I can see the appeal of a game that doesn’t have multiple forms of bullsh#t DRM, shoehorned into it by out-of-touch publishers.

A Fistful Of Gun

Posted on Jan 10, 2013 10:00:12 AM

What do William H. Bonny and Craig T. Pearson have in common? Well, there are many things. Emilio Estevez has played us both in movies, we’re both wanted by 18th century law, Martin Sheen is our dad, and we were both killed by Pat Garret. But I have Billy The Kid beat, because I appear to have been mysteriously resurrected in the body of a pacifist games journalist, and can carry on the carnage in freebie multiplayer offline shooter Fistful Of Gun, while he is doomed to forever be remembered for starring in a terrible film about Dracula. Check mate, Kiddo.

War For The Overworld

Fans of retro; rejoice! The kickstarter project for a modern day Dungeon Keeper clone has just received enough funding to hire Richard Ridings, the cheerfully malevolent narrator of the original.
