Alan Wake’s American Nightmare launches on February 22, 2012 in North America. The official launch trailer has gone online, giving gamers a poetic and action-packed look at the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade, horror-shooter.
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a third-person, action-oriented horror game. It’s a pseudo-sequel to hit thriller, Alan Wake, which recently became available for PC and originally launched for the Xbox 360 back in 2009. The new launch trailer does a good job of setting up the game as a more run-and-gun title as opposed to the more story-driven original.
Have you ever played a third-person shooter and thought, “Well, this is all well and good, but why isn’t it underwater?!” before screaming and throwing your property out the window? Put down that hatstand, because there’s a demo for Deep Black: Reloaded. And it features jet packs and harpoons.
This is, I should stress, from Biart, the same people who brought us Depth Hunter. The “Reloaded” comes from its being a version of a 360/PS3 digital game, but, um, the console’s Deep Black hasn’t been released yet. My brain hurts. It’s a near-future sci-fi, that promises a story involving espionage and bio-terror, and a smattering of world supremacy.
This feels dirty: the Far Cry 3 trailer has leaked a day early, a CGI introduction to the lead character’s holiday going stinky. I have just watched it and can confirm there’s bad language, a boat, guns, and a man not shooting someone when he really, really should have. It also confirms the release date as September 6th, and has dubstep. If you want to watch it, the link’s there, although there’s every chance it’ll be pulled by legal ninjas. In that case, there’s a teaser trailer below.
Here’s a quick teaser of the Mass Effect 3 “Take Earth Back” trailer and check out the full trailer when it debuts this Sunday during “The Walking Dead.”
If trailers showing off plenty of gameplay, quick cuts, throbbing music and over-the-top action, then the latest teaser trailer for Mass Effect 3 isn’t for you. Before you think that’s necessarily a shot at the trailer itself, we’d suggest that you take a look at exactly what the Reaper invasion of Earth will mean on human terms.
This massively multiplayer online game immerses you in the world of Star Trek. Now you can explore the galaxy, defend your bases and ships, and play as your favorite characters from the Star Trek TV show. The 2800 return and invade Star Trek online on Saturday, February 11, 2012.
Well here’s a thing. You may remember that last January there was a flurry of excitement at the prospect of a new Cannon Fodder game. The 1993 Amiga classic still generates a lot of love, and people especially like arguing about whether Cannon Fodder 2 was an acceptable sequel, and whether Stuart Campbell ruined it with his sticky-up hair. Let’s fight about that now! But a third never happened, until the peculiarity of Codemasters licensing the title for a Russian-only third part developed by GFI. Codies quickly distanced themselves from it, and things fell silent. But now every other site on the internet has reported the spotting of a YouTube video of some footage by Twitterite superannuation. And, well, it looks like Cannon Fodder with improved graphics.
Canadian animator Joel Furtado wants to see Nintendo make a sequel to Wind Waker. In HD. Since they’re likely to do no such thing, he went and made his own trailer for the dream project.
Called The Legend of Zelda: The Lost Oracle, it looks…well, for a guy working on this for fun in his spare time it looks amazing.
Every game has at least one mod that will push their fans to the brink of uninstallling and having a shower. This is Skyrim’s, I fear. We should have known it was out there, we should have protected ourselves. But it’s too late. I’m sorry.
Elevators, or as we Brits call them, dangleboxes, get a fair showing in gaming. Very few FPS titles will let you reach their final bossmonster without having had at least one go on the world’s slowest ride, giving you a moment’s pause, before they inevitably shudder to a halt as you’re ripped out of the side of the building by something with more tentacles than manners. But until now (to my knowledge at least, inevitable person who knows of a game on the Amiga) they’ve yet to receive a game dedicated just to them. And that’s what we have in the Half-Life 2 mod, Elevator: Source. YES.
Created by the undeniable geniuses at Pixeltail Games, Elevator: Source is a no-holds-barred elevator simulator, that requires Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Garry’s Mod be installed on your machine. And I really suggest you do.
