Give These Beautiful HD Remasters a Hand
She’s in a Cowboy Hat and a Bikini. There are Monsters!
Did I mention the goggles? There are goggles, too. Hack-and-slash series Onechanbara is returning to the Xbox 360 with Onechanbara Z: Kagura.
This is the game’s debut trailer. The game will be out this winter in Japan.
Goddamn, Trine 2 Is Beautiful
Things That Make Me Happy #2: Good 2-D action-platform games. Also, things that are beautiful — so Atlus’ upcoming Trine 2 game makes me pretty goddamn happy indeed. Every time I hear there’s a new game trailer for it, I wonder, “Could it really be as good-looking as I remember? Nah. I must be remembering it wrong or something.” And then I watch the trailer, and all I can do is try to mop the drool off my keyboard. Seriously, Konami, I would set orphans on fire for you to give these guys a chance at a Castlevania game. Or not set orphans on fire, whichever you’d prefer. Just think about it, okay?
Lollipop Chainsaw Announcement Trailer
Lollipop Chainsaw is the ‘un-deadly’ story of sweet and killer zombie hunter Juliet Starling and her quest to uncover the root of a colossal zombie outbreak. With her wickedly awesome chainsaw in hand, Juliet slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead, but soon realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw wielding cheerleader.
Might and Magic Heroes VI Announces Its Announcement.
I confess, I find the practice of teasing a future tease frustrating, and I’m not quite sure why the video game hype machine is so fond of this. It befuddles me. The actual “trailer” in question however, is not befuddling, but quite rousing, in an inspiring, high fantasy manner. But again. Using a tease to tease another tease. It’s a problem.
So what if I’m bitter.
Diablo III: No Mods, Online-Only, Cash Trades
The morning brings a trio of horror-news about Diablo III. I’m outright bewildered about what Blizzard have done, and shuddering about the likely reaction in comments. I won’t muck around here, and instead shall just wade straight into the things that are probably going to end up being PC gaming’s biggest controversy of 2011.
1) The game requires a constant internet connection. It cannot be played offline.
2) Mods are “expressly prohibited.”
3) Items in the auction house are bought and sold for real-life money.
Realm Of The Mad God
Sometimes, a game comes along that’s the absolute last bloody thing you need right now. There are many things I need right now: time, a haircut, lunch, the extension of about 48 deadlines, someone to do my shopping for me, a cat that can empty its own litter tray, a keyboard that doesn’t give me an RSI, a teleporter, and even more time.
There is but one thing I don’t need right now: a horribly compulsive action-RPG MMO that tickles just about every lizard-part of my brain. I want I want I want I want. I want to level up, I want a better bow, I want to get to the bigger monsters, I want to show that cocking Mad God Oryx just who’s boss. (The boss is me. Or at least it will be. One day. Soon. Yes, Oryx. Soon.)

The Witcher 2 dev debuting new project at E3
CD Projekt Red promises live gameplay demo for original game at this year’s E3.
CD Projekt Red has been on quite the run with its dark fantasy role-playing franchise, The Witcher. Following on from the series’ well-regarded debut in 2007, the Polish development house just this month secured much critical acclaim for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which was released for the PC in the US on May 17. (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions are also planned.)
Now, CD Projekt Red plans to branch out from its current bread-and-butter. As part of its Electronic Entertainment Expo presence this year, the studio expects to unveil a “brand new project.” Details on the reveal are slim, but the game is apparently already playable, as CD Projekt Red promised a live gameplay demo for gathered industry persons.
CD Projekt Red is the development studio owned by CD Projekt, which runs the Good Old Games digital distribution portal. GOG.com is best known for offering a variety of classic games unfettered by digital rights management software.
