I have two, TWO, things about Doom to show you. This is like being an archaeologist in the jungle and discovering a skellington, but the skellington’s heart is still beating and then, oh noes, there’s a ball chasing me and I’ve dropped my hat and give me back my whip Alfred Molina!

Make Quake With TrenchBroom
There’s dedication & there’s dedication. The second, slantier version means there’s been a bit more effort being put in. Let’s use Quake as an example: it’s the difference between someone still making Quake levels all these years later & someone who has built a Quake editor for modern sensibilities, making it all wizzy. West To Kill: Call Of Juarez – Gunslinger
One of my first experiences inside Castle Shotgun ended with a heartfelt lament. The Call of Juarez sounded bitterly in my ears. I haven’t played Gunslinger yet and while it doesn’t quite look like a return to form, it does seem potentially entertaining, with its arcade, score-based take on rooting, tooting and indeed shooting.
I Ain’t Afraid Of No God: BioShock Infinite’s Liz Unbound
As we all know full well and is entirely obvious, BioShock: Elizabeth is a straightforward damsel in distress with a pretty face and a nice dress, and there’s nothing more to her than that. There definitely isn’t anything surprising or sinister about her: she will be rescued by the big man with the big gun, the mean nasty boss will fall to his doom and everyone will live happily ever after.
Skylanders Swap Force – Teaser Trailer
Ripping your toys in half: It’s not just for miscreants anymore! Activision reveals the latest instalment in its blockbusting game series, featuring a brand new selection of interchangeable action figures.
Crysis 3 Can Be Swampy Green And Murky
News collectors VG247 have a bunch of Crysis 3 footage, which I have cheerfully reblogged below. Producer-man Michael Read has a bit to say about it, too, explaining what makes that section – Swamp – unique. Well, it’s swampy green and might murky, for a start. But also you get to kill men!
It’s Your Daily Dead Space 3 Trailer
Dead Space 3 is assaulting us with news we don’t want to hear of late. Out in just over a week, we’ve recently learned that it’s going to offer microtransactions for in-game items, and that the PC build is to be a dead-straight port with no frills. Oh, and dear sweet Horace, it’s used a Phil Collins song. And now it’s saying it’s got a story.
Battlefield 3′s End Game
What now, CoD? Battlefield 3′s latest expansion pack boasts birtbike chases across vast maps, capture the flag goodness and even a dropship that can dump vehicles onto the battlefield. Oh and watch the video through to the end if you’re a fan of Battlefield 3′s jets. It looks like there’s something here for just about everyone! HOOAH!
GTA IV’s Iron Man Mod: Now With Actual Super Powers
Oh how far we’ve come. Back in 2011 – which I still struggle to believe was more than one year ago, or one day, or not tomorrow – we posted about a marvelous-looking GTA IV mod that turned Niko into Iron Man. Or rather, Iron Man if he were only slightly better at flying than one of the firetrucks he’s apparently wearing and barely capable of going toe-to-toe with the starvingest of hobos.
