Well, maybe not quite all, but ARMA III‘s debuted three rather sizable portions of its E3 demo, and – while I’m a bit unsettled by the sudden and ominous proliferation of threes in my life – I’m definitely impressed.

Amazingly, ‘Call of Duty Online’ didn’t actually exist before now. They’re surely the most inevitable word-sequence in the world, after all. Even so, “free to play micro transaction first person action game” CODO isn’t for us.

I’ve always found it curious that Medal of Honor Warfighter‘s title is singular. Well, OK, first I found it curious that anyone would name a game “Warfighter,” but – based on the numbers these things do.

I know Dead Space is a popular franchise that I need to cover, but I know less than nothing about it, and I don’t have any real desire to learn anything about it, so instead of making a bunch of incorrect generalizations about this lengthy look at Dead Space 3, I’m just going to post it for the people who care and shut the hell up.

Aha, I was a bit worried this might not see a PC release. Weird on both counts, given PC was originally its lead platform and, well,
it’s a pretty boring game so it’s strange that I’d care. Absent makes the heart grow less exasperated, I suppose. Yes, Doom 3 BFG, complete with new sections, improved levels, tuned controls, added checkpoints and sweet mother of God a mounted-flashlight, will be out on PC. When? MAYBE I’M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU.

Another quick Rezzed update for you – joining the increasingly mighty throng of games’n’devs attending the PC games show in Brighton, UK next Month are Unknown Worlds and their long-awaited multiplayer alien-vs-men epic Natural Selection 2. Hugh Jeremy from Unknown Worlds is going to do a stage demo of the Half-Life mod-gone-pro and audience Q&A at 5pm on Friday 6th July.

Today’s FPS games rarely last long on my hard drive, stuffed as it is with maps, dice and musty tomes of history retold. It’s more than a decade since my deathmatch days , which makes me feel indescribably ancient. It’s only fitting that it takes a Kickstarter project to rekindle my interest, as Kickstarter so often seems like fertile ground for old roots to sprout new shoots.

People loved Just Cause 2. With all the crazy grappling/parachuting/action-stunting in Avalanche Studios’ 2010 hit, why wouldn’t they? But Rico Rodriguez’ adventures didn’t have anything by way of online multiplayer, which would’ve made an already good game even better. Oh, well, JC2 lovers can dream of what might’ve been, right?
Prometheus – Doom 3 Mod

Doom 3 modders are recreating Ridley Scott’s Prometheus in the PC game, building models and textures so that players can explore the “alien” planet and structures for themselves. The real question is, would things turn out differently if you were playing instead of watching?
