Bioshock Infinite And The Beast of America

Posted on Oct 31, 2012 10:00:38 AM

Bioshock Infinite has seen a few high-profile members of the team leave of late, but that doesn’t seem to have caused it to waver from its February 26th release date. The latest trailer shows off happenings of light and fury, with lots of combat. The skyline, Elizabeth, and the Handyman baddy feature heavily. If the original Bioshock was a colourful and visually offbeat shooter, then we’ll need to dust off rarely used 19th-century adjectives for this one. Go take a look.

Mighty Morphine: Painkiller – Hell And Damnation

Posted on Oct 30, 2012 10:00:38 AM

‘Hell and Damnation’ is the kind of exclamation that I imagine might escape the rarely unpursed lips of a country vicar as he stubs his toe on the rector’s boot-scraper when arriving for afternoon tea. Tacked on the end of Painkiller’s colon, it’s probably not intended to sound as quaint as all that but rather to convey the gurgling, catarrh-trembling roar of a heavy metalist. John has already played the opening levels of this remake of the original kill ‘em up, which comes out on Halloween.

Less Pocket, More Monster: Dragon’s Prophet

Posted on Oct 26, 2012 10:00:36 AM

SOE’s new F2P fantasy MMO, Dragon’s Prophet, sounds like Pokemon but dragonier. I mean it, too. That is exactly what it sounds like. See for yourself: “In a world shaped by dragon-kind, more than 300 unique dragons roam the lands. Fight, capture, train and ride them in order to unlock their unique skills and abilities.” But, in reality, that’s only one aspect of its sky-searing DNA. The rest, meanwhile, might seem a bit more familiar if you’re from ’round these PC-friendly parts.

Snikt And Smash: Marvel Heroes

Posted on Oct 25, 2012 10:00:10 AM

When X-Men: The Last Stand crammed in all the mutants it made for a crowded frame and some of Marvel’s most uncanny were rendered as little more than computer-generated blobs of colour. Free-to-play multiplayer online ARPG Marvel Heroes also appears to subscribe to the ‘more actually can be more’ philosophy, but hopefully to greater effect.

Captain Scarlett DLC For Borderlands 2 Lands Oct 16th

Posted on Oct 22, 2012 10:00:38 AM

You can imagine my disappointment when I heard about this. Not the unparalleled mega-classic of science fiction drama Captain Scarlet, featuring the indestructible captain of the near future, but Captain Scarlett (pictured above), featuring some kind of hook-handed lady buccaneer of the wastes.

Jim Wants To Show You Some Lost Planet 3

Posted on Oct 19, 2012 10:00:34 AM

No, not our Jim, although the similarities are uncanny. Though we suspect the Jim in Lost Planet 3 is based on our own Jim’s days when he used to run around with a camera on his shoulder, shooting at giant insects in icy wastelands. You can see a new nine-minute narrated walkthrough video below.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II: Launch Trailer

Posted on Oct 17, 2012 10:04:00 AM

As you’re all aware by now, Black Ops 2 takes place in the near future of 2025. It’s here that our intrepid heroes make their way through a world where terrorists have commandeered the very technology that the U.S. government built to protect us. There’s also a subplot involving everybody’s favorite Russian phantom Viktor Reznov.

Of Orcs And Men And Launch Trailers

Posted on Oct 15, 2012 10:00:03 AM

It was only May when I was first amazed to discover that spiders could develop games. And now Of Orcs And Men is out tomorrow. Those industrious arachnids. You can see a completely unhelpful CGI launch trailer below, that doesn’t give you any idea whatsoever what the game’s like. Because that’s what trailers are for, right?! Silly billies.

Hue & Cry: Crytek Talk Crysis 3 Multiplayer

Posted on Oct 12, 2012 10:00:02 AM

Crysis 3 producer Mike Read has been talking about the new modes for the upcoming game, and you can see them in action below. I’ve no real idea how popular the Crysis multiplayer modes have been over the years. I’ve played all of them, but, well, I can’t ever remember anyone talking about them after release. Mods yes, but vanilla multiplayer? No. Anyone out there actually play it? What are we missing?

Wow: MaK Is Minecraft Meets Mario Galaxy In Space

Posted on Oct 8, 2012 06:20:02 PM

Goodness, this looks impressive. MaK (pronounced “make”) is a game about building. Yes, there are roughly seven trillion of those at this point, but it’s actually aiming to execute the concept in an impressively different fashion.
