Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the next chapter in the best-selling Call of Duty First-Person Shooter action series.
Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to the previous game in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game will continue the campaign storyline in which the U.S. forces struggle against an invasion by the Russian Federation following the framing of an undercover U.S. agent in a terrorist attack on Moscow.
The game will not only contain classic Call of Duty multi-character control, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 contains deep multiplayer support, including two-player Co-op Survival mode. The game will also contain all-new Kill Streak categories and customizable strike packages that offer you more options to find the style that fits you best.
Crysis for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network is a modified and enhanced version of the award-winning single-player campaign from the original Crysis.
The original Crysis debuted as a PC-exclusive game in 2007, and it quickly became the gold standard for unattainably high-end PC gaming. This was a game that brought most gaming PCs grinding to a halt unless you reduced your graphical settings. One thing was clear at the time of the game’s original release four years ago: Crysis wouldn’t work on a console. Or would it? How things change, eh!?
Seeing that picture could have put all kinds of ideas in your head, which is why I didn’t make the headline cruelly vague. What it all actually denotes is Gordon Freeman’s rather surprising presence in the Steam version of Renegade Ops, Avalanche’s top-down, four player vehicle-based destructathon. Gordon will be driving his buggy and he’s bringing some antlions along to use in a special attack. Oh, Gordon, you’re so science. Avalanche did promise some extras for the Steam version of the game after delivering it to console-dwellers before we PC folk and it’s good of them to follow through on that promise. They’ve even given us a Gordon-specific trailer along with a release date: October 14th.
I’m presuming there will shortly be confirmation that Renegade Ops takes place in the Half Life universe.
Suit up as a Colonial Marine and confront hordes of the infamous aliens solo, or in four player co-op mode. Randy Pitchford takes you through the first demo for Aliens: Colonial Marines from this year’s E3.
PC version of Croteam first-person shooter revival pushed back a month, still no update on Xbox 360 and PS3 release windows.
If there’s one thing Serious Sam isn’t so serious about, it’s keeping appointments. Devolver Digital and Croteam today announced the second delay for the PC version of Serious Sam 3: BFE, pushing the game’s launch back to November 22.
The PC game was originally announced as a summer release and then issued what would turn out to be an equally erroneous October 18 launch date. There is still no word on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the game, which were announced for summer but have not been given a new release window.
A prequel to Serious Sam: The First Encounter, BFE takes place in 22nd-century Egypt amid a collapsing civilization beset by unearthly beasts. The game sees the return of the series’ signature adversaries like the Headless Kamikaze and Gnaar, as well as new opponents going by names like Scrapjack and Khnum.
Serious Sam 3′s gameplay also features a number of additions, with Sam in particular getting an assortment of new melee moves. Additionally, up to 16 players at a time can play through the game’s cooperative campaign mode.
Okay, here it is: the first Syndicate trailer. Heavy on the dubstep and men in trenchcoats. Gosh, this makes me realise that the original Syndicate came out in the era before there were generally trailers for games.
- No waving policeman?
- HUD elements at 0:34 look interesting.
- Gosh, they meant that “breaching” enemies thing, at 0:40.
- 0:50: wubwubstep!
- 1:03: a boot stamping on a human face. Forever?
- I like the casually shooting people at 1:16.
- Some men certainly get shot.
- No sign of co-op yet?
- Logo is a bit weak. Looks like Any Old Action Movie font.
Worldwide Battlefield 3 tournament will see players compete online for the chance to win a portion of the US$1.6 million prize pool.
EA has announced it will be teaming up with Richard Branson’s previously announced gaming service, Virgin Gaming, to host a worldwide Battlefield 3 online competition.
The Battlefield 3 Worldwide Conquest Tournament–billed by EA as “the largest video game competition in gaming history”–will see players from around the world competing in an online Battlefield 3 tournament for the chance to win a share of the US$1.6 million prize pool.
The tournament will begin in early 2012, and will culminate in a live grand finale.
To pre-register for the tournament, players must sign up to Virgin Gaming; according to EA, further details about the event will be released closer to 2012.

Battlefield 3 will include both a single-player campaign and an online component, which can be played with up to 64 players (for the PC version only). It will also support co-op play for its campaign.
Mercury HG is a remake of the PSP puzzle game Mercury Meltdown.
For those not familiar with the 2005 title, you are given the task to move a blob of mercury to reach the finish line in the shortest amount of time possible while keeping the blob 100 percent intact. To do this, you have to tilt the board to move the blob around. You can also collect atoms on the way to unlock levels laid out like the periodic table of elements.
Don’t Feed the Trolls is a reflex-tester game for the Xbox Live indie.
The screen is divided into four sectors, one for each of the face buttons. When a bear pops up, you hit the button that corresponds to the sector they’re standing in. When a troll pops up, you hit the left stick in that direction to slap it.
Every level, a new type of bear or troll is thrown at you that slightly changes up the gameplay. Okay, okay, it really is just a stupid minigame. But I’ll be damned if it isn’t addictive. This won’t be the type of game that you go back to again and again, but for a buck it’s a nice way to murder an hour. Brian and I both groaned when the developer challenge for this arrived, but it wasn’t so bad. In fact, there was no point where I wasn’t having a good time with Don’t Feed the Trolls. So this gets my endorsement, as there’s nothing at all really wrong with it.
It’s not deep or complex, but it is fun, and that’s what should count. Such a shame, because if I hated it I could have made so many awful jokes, like “This game is Un-BEAR-able” or “I know I get accused of TROLLing but this is ridiculous.” Sigh, so many of my puns are victims of good games.
Light a candle in their honor tonight, and let us mourn.
