Captain Scarlett DLC For Borderlands 2 Lands Oct 16th

Posted on Oct 22, 2012 10:00:38 AM

You can imagine my disappointment when I heard about this. Not the unparalleled mega-classic of science fiction drama Captain Scarlet, featuring the indestructible captain of the near future, but Captain Scarlett (pictured above), featuring some kind of hook-handed lady buccaneer of the wastes.

Jim Wants To Show You Some Lost Planet 3

Posted on Oct 19, 2012 10:00:34 AM

No, not our Jim, although the similarities are uncanny. Though we suspect the Jim in Lost Planet 3 is based on our own Jim’s days when he used to run around with a camera on his shoulder, shooting at giant insects in icy wastelands. You can see a new nine-minute narrated walkthrough video below.

Happy Birthday: Project C.A.R.S. Is One Year Old

Posted on Oct 18, 2012 10:00:38 AM

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a car, but they’re pretty clever things. Most people use them for staying out of the rain and storing obsolete cassette tapes and CDs in. Apparently, though, they can even be made race each other, which has been the topic of simulation for Project C.A.R.S., which is a crowd-sourced(ish) game developed by Slightly Mad Studios.

Transformers Universe Footage Rolls Out

Posted on Oct 16, 2012 10:00:28 AM

Three or four years ago, I would have fallen to my knees and begged for a Transformers MMO. Today I would not, which is partly because I feel totally burned out on MMOs and partly because my knees increasingly make this unpleasant clicking noise if I bend them too abruptly. But you can be damned sure I’ll at least have a big old fiddle with the character creator in Jagex’s upcoming Transformers Universe even if the long-haul of levelling and whatnot is too galling.

Hue & Cry: Crytek Talk Crysis 3 Multiplayer

Posted on Oct 12, 2012 10:00:02 AM

Crysis 3 producer Mike Read has been talking about the new modes for the upcoming game, and you can see them in action below. I’ve no real idea how popular the Crysis multiplayer modes have been over the years. I’ve played all of them, but, well, I can’t ever remember anyone talking about them after release. Mods yes, but vanilla multiplayer? No. Anyone out there actually play it? What are we missing?

Veni Vidi Vendi: Vitrum Is Out

Posted on Oct 10, 2012 10:00:23 AM

How many people reading this are waiting for Dishonored? How many for XCOM? Both? Maybe it’d be easier to ask how many people aren’t waiting for either. Let us not forget that other games have not ceased to exist and that one way to make the waiting period less agonising might well be to sample some of those games, especially if they can be sampled for free.

Sunder Lizards: Primal Carnage Beta Open

Posted on Oct 9, 2012 04:45:46 PM

Dinosaurs versus heavily armed people. It’s a tale as old as time, with a clear artistic through line that begins in the cave paintings of Mann-Shüt, which depicted heroic cavefolk firing rocks at armies of marauding velociraptors, and ends with Primal Carnage.
