Blood Remake For The Blood God

It’s been all too long since Monolith did anything that made me want to camp outside their premises waving a banner reading ‘I LOVE YOU! YOU MAKE GAMING A BETTER PLACE! NO-ONE LIVES FOREVER FOREVER!’ Who knows which staff left, what parts of the company were sold to which other companies, who got cold feet about risk-taking – all I know is that the all-too-ordinary FEAR games make me mourn for what was and what might have been.

Those Triads Are Rising Again

Blast from the past – Rise Of The Triad is making a comeback! WTF!? Here are the key details: semi-remake/embiggening, Unreal Engine 3, developed by one Interceptor Entertainment and published by a company that’s calling itself Apogee, has most of the original weapons and modes, map and mod creator, out on Steam later this year. Grand Theft Auto III Rage Classic

It’s hard to get stoked about GTA3 being released on PSN when there is a mod team hard at work porting the classic crime simulator into the GTA4 engine. Yeah, you heard me. They’re bringing all the beauty of the game’s latest iteration to it’s first three dimensional outing. Here’s hoping they don’t add Roman bellic and his bowling fetish.

Minecraft Looking Lush

It might be accepted as charmingly fugly by it’s enormous userbase, but there will always be people out there who will attempt to polish a turd. With Sonic Ether’s shader pack parts of Minecraft (water specifically) will now look totally awesome in contrast to the rest of the blocky world.

Conano: Tiny Barbarian DX

If you’re a fan of Conan The Barbarian and retro platform games, you’re gonna love this…..The original Tiny Barbarian was a splendid little platformer, with secrets to discover and monsters to be barbaric toward. Based on The Frost Giant’s Daughter, an original Conan story, it was lovely and free.

Shadowrun Online Footage, Cost Change Details

The archetypal cyberpunk shooter is back an looks like it may be staying truer to it’s isometric SNES roots…

Forthcoming tactical combat game Shadowrun Online, which we first looked at here (and not to be confused with the gigantically Kickstarted RPG, Shadowrun Returns) has revealed some early game footage, which they stress is a work-in-progress prototype, and you can see that below.
