Robin’s Hood: Harley Quinn’s Revenge Trailer Goes Batty

Posted on May 22, 2012 10:00:45 AM

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that sidekicks have a purpose. They are, after all, easily kidnapped by arch-nemeses, generally ineffective unless dwelling in their natural habitat of the hero’s shadow, and rarely capable of putting together a costume that doesn’t implicitly beg for a super-powered swirly. I have to say, though, that Batman: Arkham City’s Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC looks pretty promising.

Quantum Conundrum Serves Some Science Juice

Posted on May 21, 2012 03:48:34 PM

When John tried to unravel Quantum Conundrum he reported that there were several dimensions, including a heavy one, a gravity reversing one and another that slows down time. Those sit alongside (if dimensions sit or have sides) the fluffy dimension that has been shown in the previously released videos. I didn’t believe a word of Walker’s report of course. Why would he be traipsing around dimensions that the rest of us haven’t even laid eyes on? What gives him the right?

Hitman: Sniper Challenge Aiming For August Launch

Posted on May 16, 2012 10:00:29 AM

Hm, I’m not sure how to feel about this. I mean, I’m not usually a fan of pre-order bonuses – especially given how inconsequential they ultimately turn out to be relative to how frequently they’re paraded in front of us, bells jingling and doves emerging from places where doves shouldn’t be (sleeves, obviously). Also, there was a time when this would’ve been a free demo or teaser available to all. But, nowadays, those take extra time and money a lot of developers don’t have, so I suppose Hitman‘s upcoming Sniper Challenge is – at least, speculatively – justifiable.

The Five Fundamentals of FIFA 13

Posted on May 16, 2012 09:13:00 AM

Is FIFA 13 the revolution EA is making it out to be, or are we just in for a new set of tweaks? It is 11:05 AM. I am out of breath and covered in crumbs. Not just any crumbs, mind, but the crumbs of a Danish hastily eaten on a mad sprint to a meeting (there is nothing crumblier than a press-junket pastry). If sacrifices were to be made, though, eating a dignified breakfast was to be rightly one of them. For this was the grand unveiling of FIFA 13 and I was surrounded by the cream of the sports gaming press: a cadre of journalists from across Europe, all wide-eyed and eager to hear about the latest updates to the FIFA franchise. None of them were late or covered in crumbs.

Max Payne 3′s Launch Trailer Is A Week Early

Posted on May 15, 2012 10:00:25 AM

Maybe the launch trailer arrived before the game because Max Payne 3, like it’s titular bearded/cleanshaven renegade cop/angry vest, is currently diving toward its release date in slow motion. It really wants to be on your hard drive, honest it does, but it wants to arrive in style and preferably while shooting sixteen guns simultaneously into every other game you have installed in order to make room for itself. Whatever the case, the video should be filed under ‘portentous’ and ‘containing admirable discussions of the nature of healing and time’.

Carmageddon’s Crowdsourced ReReincarnation

Posted on May 14, 2012 01:16:55 PM

Hmm. I was under the impression that Stainless’ forthcoming Carmageddon reboot was in a safe place already in terms of funding, but nonetheless they’ve added their game of pedestrian slaughter and hyper-aggressive future-racing to the infinite ranks of Kickstarted development. The internet’s been enormously happy about the news today, which puzzles me slightly as it’s not like the game wasn’t going to happen without crowdsourcing.
